Atlanta, sometimes referred to as “The ATL”, is the capital of Georgia and home to many thriving businesses and organizations.  Some major businesses that operate out of Atlanta are Coca-Cola, AT&T, CNN, and Home Depot.  Popular in many modern-day fields, such as music, athletics, entertainment, and leisure, Atlanta is a hotspot destination for tourists and business travelers alike.  With a metro population around 6 million people, Atlanta offers countless activities to enjoy, restaurants to eat at, parks and museums to explore, and extensive nightlife clubs/lounges.  Beautiful, sunny weather with very little days of rain allows for residents and visitors to enjoy the city’s exciting amenities year-round.

Some of the most prominent job sectors in Atlanta include:  technical, biomed, healthcare, education, sales, and manufacturing.  The metro Atlanta area is home to many companies that employ a high number of workers every year, including:  Delta Airlines, Emory University & Healthcare, Home Depot, Northside Hospital, Publix Super Markets, AT&T, and Marriott International.  Cushman and Wakefield reported in 2017 that Atlanta was adding the fifth-most jobs year-over-year among U.S. cities, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.  Many of these companies offer positions at the corporate headquarters’ level, so finding a practical and an affordable corporate housing residence is essential.  However, Atlanta also offers a plethora of jobs outside of the corporate level, especially in the construction division.  Pulsing with culture, traditions, and popular trends, Atlanta is looking to greatly increase their infrastructure in 2020 in regards to supporting the diverse atmosphere of the great city.  Residences, skyscrapers, restaurants, retail shops, and hotels are all scheduled to be constructed all over the metro Atlanta area.  Some projects to look forward to are:  The Met, a huge art gallery with great dining options; Fort Mac, a redeveloped U.S. Army base being transformed into beautiful residences with local retail shops; Pullman Yard, part movie studio/part live-work-play space; and Midtown Union, with a 12-story hotel and 30,000 square feet of retail space.  With the boom of infrastructure, Atlanta will be in need of countless construction workers to create these projects, and there are plenty of construction crew housing options to accommodate them.

In recent years, many big-name companies have relocated their headquarters to Atlanta, and more come each year.  Georgia was even named the number one state for business by corporate facility investors and site consultants, according to the Metro Atlanta Chamber.  Some of the companies that recently relocated to the area include: Mercedes Benz, State Farm, GE, NCR, and Sage.  Some industries in Atlanta that can expect a large growth due to new business relocations include:  bioscience, financial technology, supply chain management, and Internet of Things.  Another reason why many businesses have relocated to Atlanta is because of the laws regarding taxes, especially in the popular industry of film.  According to the Georgia Film, Television and Digital Entertainment Tax Credit, companies that spend over $500,000 in production, or post production, are allowed to receive a 20% tax credit.  To continue, another huge advantage of companies relocating to Atlanta is its extensive transportation hub.  Having access to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, deep water ports, railways, and interstate highways makes doing business effective and efficient.

Additionally, Atlanta’s higher education programs and diverse talent pool is what persuades people and businesses to move to this great city. Some of the largest universities around Atlanta include Georgia State University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Kennesaw State University, and Emory University.  Multiple universities, especially Emory University, have prominent nursing programs that are directly linked to the hospitals in Atlanta.  Nursing students living off-campus have access to furnished apartments, or intern housing in many locations around Atlanta.

A deeper look into the city’s demographics reveals the diverse population to be 52% African American, 40% White, 4% Asian, and two or more other races about 3%.  While there is a very diverse population, Atlanta offers many attractions and landmarks that will peak the interest of anyone that visits.  Some of these include: Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta Botanical Gardens, Centennial Olympic Park, World of Coca-Cola, and Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site.  With an average forecast between the low-70s degrees and high-80s degrees with plenty of sun, Atlanta is a beautiful city to explore any time of year.  As stated by a study conducted by Mercer, which evaluated living conditions in more than 450 cities worldwide, Atlanta ranked #65 on the 2017 Quality of Living List.  With countless opportunities to learn, work, play, and shop, Atlanta is the destination that has something for everyone.
